On October 5, 2024, we lost our friend, guide, and partner, Macdonald Budd. Many here at Manice Budd and Baggett LLP worked with Mr. Budd for several decades.
Every day, he demonstrated a kindness and compassion that earned the respect and loyalty of his colleagues and of his clients, many of whom he served until the very end. To those who knew him, we mourn your loss as much as we do ours. He certainly would have appreciated your caring thoughts, and so do we. His 50+ years of legal service is a testament to us all.
Mr. Budd is survived by his loving wife Agnes, two sons Macdonald and Anthony, and six grandchildren. As much as he loved his practice of law, his family was always his primary concern, and we share those priorities. Family always comes first. And so, on behalf of his “work family,” we say, thank you Mac. You will be missed.

Brett L. Wisniewski is an incoming Trusts & Estates Associate at Manice Budd & Baggett LLP.
His practice areas include Estate Planning, Wealth Transfer Taxation, Probate and Administration, Guardianship Proceedings, and he has a keen interest in developing Estate Plans that include Intellectual Property.
Prior to joining Manice Budd & Baggett, Brett earned his Ph.D. in Classical Languages, Literature, and Linguistics from New York University. He taught Ancient Greek, Latin, and Ethical Philosophy at a college preparatory school in Manhattan for ten years and served as the Organizer of their Upper School Leadership Seminar.
Brett is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School, where he earned a Certificate with Distinction in the study of Intellectual Property, Media, and Information Law.
He was member of the school’s HELP (Helping Elders Through Litigation and Policy) Clinic, where he became a Court Evaluator for Guardianship Proceedings and worked cases for the New York County Surrogate’s Court.
Brett is an avid reader, writer, musician, and amateur chef.
